Undress to Kill : a “haute couture trompe-l’oeil”
What is this witchery, what are these illusions? Your senses seem to be failing you and you don’t know where reason stops and the magic of the show starts… Is the dancer exquisitely nude or wearing a flamboyant evening gown? Is it a diamond dress lighting up her skin or the entire Milky Way wrapped around her? Don’t worry, these same questions are always asked when Undress To Kill is performed on the Crazy Horse stage. Just be aware that you will have no means of escaping the magic of this highly spellbinding act.
First virtual striptease ever
“Undress to Kill, the last act I created at the Crazy Horse Paris for my ultimate muse, Dita Von Teese, is perhaps one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever done.” In these words Ali Mahdavi, contemporary and polymorphous artistic figure, describes this aesthetically remarkable tableau. By displaying the genius of augmented reality on stage, he was able to transform his ideas into living and otherworldly costumes, thereby giving the Crazy Horse its first virtual striptease in the world! With her feline steps and suggestive poses, the dancer gets dressed and undressed by light, beautiful haute couture signed Stefano Canulli. The magic works thanks to her on-stage presence… and precision. This avant gardist act was initially imagined by Ali Mahdavi for the majestic Dita Von Teese, uncontested icon of burlesque, for her exclusive show in 2016 on the Crazy Horse stage, “Dita’s Crazy Show”. Ever since, the most courageous of the Crazy Girls take up this dual challenge of acting and dexterity, personifying a charismatic and voluptuous woman who will beguile you with her illusions.
