What story lies behind your stage name?

My stage name reflects two sides of my personality. “Lexy,” which has its roots in the Latin word for “law,” evokes the structure, discipline and precision I bring to my work. And “Ray” refers to my radiant, expansive side on stage.

What is your story with dance?

I started dancing in Troyes, France, when I was about five years old. The passion came quickly, and my training soon became intensive. I grew up going straight from school to the conservatory every day, doing my homework in the car between a ballet class and a jazz class. I had a very clear goal of becoming a professional dancer, so during my final year of high school, I joined the Young Ballet programme at the Conservatoire du Grand Chalon, a semi-professional course. At that point, I could be dancing up to twenty-four hours a week. After high school, I joined the Institut National des Arts du Music-Hall in Le Mans. Over three years, I developed other styles of dance, including cabaret, while also studying singing and acting. It was a work-study programme, which meant that at seventeen, I would attend classes from Monday to Wednesday, then spend the rest of the week performing on stage. That’s when it became clear to me that I could turn my passion into a career. It was also during that period, as I was thinking about my future, that Crazy Horse Paris became a goal of mine, especially through meeting Rose Des Champs, who is now part of the Dubai troupe. After graduating, I began working in cabaret and then at Disneyland Paris, before spending a year focusing on teaching. And then Crazy Horse Paris came into my life!

In the show Totally Crazy!, you embody the character of Miss Astra. How would you describe her?

Miss Astra is Totally Crazy! Under her slightly wild blue wig, she is joyful, radiant, eccentric, passionate, fiery and infectious! She is completely herself and completely fulfilled, and that is what makes her so feminine and irresistible. She perfectly embodies the joy the dancers feel when they step onto the Crazy Horse Paris stage. To me, that is a powerful symbol.

Who are you when you dance on Crazy Horse Paris stage?

Crazy Horse Paris stage is where I feel and express my purest femininity, which is different from the femininity I experience in everyday life. Every woman expresses her femininity differently. It’s something deeply personal. Mine continues to grow as I build bridges between who I am and who Lexy Ray is.

What do you want to convey to the audience when you dance on Crazy Horse stage Paris?

Being a woman, placed in the spotlight, facing an audience on this stage, is no small thing. Dance is a wonderful way of sharing emotions, thoughts and ideas through movement. At Crazy Horse Paris, I express beauty, sensuality and femininity. I want to reveal the strength of women through their movement, their bodies and their gaze.

As a dancer, how would you describe your relationship with your body?

Becoming a woman is not easy. We go through so many challenges: learning to accept a body that is constantly changing, getting to know ourselves beyond appearances, resisting the pressure to achieve physical perfection… Crazy Horse Paris has helped me tremendously in that regard. I came to understand that beyond the body itself, what truly matters is celebrating the woman it carries. That perspective helped me make peace with myself.

What are you most proud of as a Crazy Horse Paris dancer?

Being part of the Crazy Horse Paris troupe means having accomplished an immense amount of work, both physically and mentally. I’m proud of my journey, my choices and my perseverance. They have allowed me to turn my passion into a profession and brought me to this iconic stage, where I am proud to embody and defend my own vision of femininity.

Which tableau in Totally Crazy! fills you with the most wonder?

Every time I see Lay Laser Lay, it hits me on an emotional level. Not only is it incredibly powerful visually, but it also carries an extraordinary depth and intensity, allowing the dancer to share deeply intimate emotions. It deeply moves me.
