Can you tell us more about how you ended up on stage?
I grew up on stage, my father was a stage director. I have always spoken the language of music and was lucky enough to gain experience in a wide range of performance settings. I started out playing my guitar, on my own, in the Paris metro system for four years, which was a great learning experience. I was then spotted for the TV programme The Voice, and took my first steps at prime time. Everything sped up after that point, I released my album, I advertised a leading spirits brand, I played the lead role in the musical Le Rouge et le Noir and I joined Jean-Paul Gaultier’s Fashion Freak Show troupe. All of these experiences were extremely different and enabled me to travel the world and brush my stage performance with a range of new hues. I passed the Crazy entertainer audition in 2019. This audition was tough for me as I was not familiar with the cabaret world at that time. I now feel totally at home here and have fully embodied my role. I am extremely proud to be part of this show, which I consider as one of the most beautiful in the world.
Which female personage do you portray on the Crazy Horse Paris stage?
You might be surprised to hear that my role model is the wonderful Jessica Rabbit! I sourced a few ideas from her when coming up with my Crazy entertainer role: the long and glittery dresses, the glamorous style, her seductive attitude and her feminine power, which can get provocative, particularly with the male audience. I was also delighted to add my own touch, obviously, I keep it funny and rooted in the modern world. On the Crazy Horse Paris stage, I play the role of a strong, provocative and self-confident woman, with a healthy touch of irony.
Can you describe your target atmosphere in the theatre?
My aim is to make the audience laugh, and create a totally relaxed party atmosphere. The songs help loads. I start my show with the “Je ne veux pas travailler” number by Pink Martini, which sets the tone! As the evening goes on, I perform numbers such as “I just want to make love to you” by Etta James and “Where is my man?” by Eartha Kitt, keeping the audience involved and a smile on their faces. My role is to make the audience feel welcome, create ties and bring the energy levels up, by singing, yes, but I also like to surprise the viewers. I am not afraid to sit on someone’s knee, grab a tie, or pay a lady a compliment. It’s a bit of a joyful game between them and me.
Can you describe your universe in three words?
Showgirl, glamour and friendliness! But I would like to add sisterhood as a bonus concept! I am lucky enough to perform at a theatre which appreciates female beauty and power, which allows me to be myself on stage, particularly with other women.
What do you love about this passionate profession?
I have always dreamt of doing this job, and I always will. I realise how lucky I am every single day. Yes I work hard day in and day out to be able to live my dream, but there’s also a degree of luck involved. I had some good guardian angels and a shooting star behind me. Working for Crazy Horse Paris is totally crazy! It really is an immense privilege to find myself under the lights as part of such a top-quality show.
How do you see the emblematic Crazy Horse Paris dancers who share the show?
Even when you work for Crazy Horse Paris, the dancers have the same magic touch. It took me ages to meet them in person. They represent perfection, pure femininity, and are almost untouchable, almost unreal, and yet these women are very much rooted in today’s world, and are funny and friendly, in addition to being some of the most talented and beautiful ladies in the world! I am, above all, impressed by their talent. These are competitive-level athletes, and accomplished artists.
What special touch do you bring to the Totally Crazy! show?
I bring my voice. I am currently part of the Crazy Horse Paris team as a singer. My world is home to a combination of glamour and performing arts, just like the dancers, but on the vocal side.
What do you think is the magic Crazy Horse Paris ingredient that has ensured its success for the last seventy-five years?
Â
The level of requirements applied at all levels, down to the tiniest detail. And this site, which is mythical, Crazy Horse Paris, sets women on stage like diamonds in a crown. Crazy Horse Paris has created a whole new and simply unrivalled world.
Which number in the Totally Crazy show do you think is the most mesmerizing?
Upside Down, it takes my breath away! The stage setting is an optical illusion. I won’t give the secret away, but the effects are eye-catching, unsettling and simply beautiful. I also love the brand new number called Vertiges, which was also created by Philippe Découflé. This number is based on the traditional three Crazy Horse Paris values: top-notch ballet dancers, incredible artistic lighting using sophisticated techniques, and a subtle message conveyed by the dance choreography: Crazy Horse Paris is run by women for women.
