Dita Von Teese is taking a bath at the Crazy Horse !
This act is part of pure Crazy Horse tradition. In the 1950s, Paris had already plunged – more than 1500 times! – into the wonderfully mischievous ablutions of a dancer of disturbing grace : Miss Candida.
At 34, however, Dita Von Teese has established her brand and her inimitable style.
Although her inspiration is drawn from the great post-war striptease artists, she has become a muse for today’s designers : John Galliano, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Moschino and Vivienne Westwood, who designed her dress for her wedding to the Artist-Rocker Marilyn Manson, all recognise her as a high-glamour, eccentric icon.
Hollywood stars and pin-ups of the 1950s
Destined to be a cinema stylist, she ended up as the diva of Striptease, reappropriating with energy and modernity the style, attitudes and eroticism suggested by the Hollywood stars and pin-ups of the 1950s.
By hosting Dita Von Teese, the Crazy Horse is returning to its tradition as the high temple of Parisian nightlife by inaugurating a series of “happenings” which will punctuate the year to come.
