“I have learnt a key lesson on the stage here: how to charm an audience”
“Thousands of little details come together on stage each evening, sculpting an artistic marvel guaranteed to capture the audience’s attention”

Can you tell us more about how you ended up on stage?

I started out dancing, but it was singing that ultimately launched my career. I initially joined a choir, and then later became a big band singer. I backed artists such as Michel Polnareff, Christophe Willem and Shy’m as a chorister. I also sung during prime time with the live Danse avec les Stars orchestra for three years, which was incredible! I then left to spend time in London to expand my own musical repertoire and record an EP in English. I was spotted in the UK and backed Ed Sheeran on tour. After I came back to France, I gained a wide range of extra experience on stage which really helped boost my skills and confidence: I was the lead singer in the first half of L’Oiseau Paradis at the Paradis Latin cabaret and played a role in various musicals such as Black Legends, Holidays and Saturday Night Fever by StĂ©phane Jarny. More recently I played the lead role in JosĂ©phine Baker, the musical.

Which female role do you play on the Crazy Horse Paris stage?

I really feel like myself on the Crazy Horse Paris stage. I show my funny, cheeky side, while seductively drawing the audience in. I welcome the viewers with a smile, share a joke with them, tease them a little, and chat with them throughout the evening, sharing their time at the show. I love my totally interactive role!

How would you describe your personage on the stage?

I change my personage depending on the song, but I stay sexy from start to finish. During some songs, I bring out my Joséphine Baker personage, keeping things cheeky, funny and light-hearted, creating a cabaret party style atmosphere. On the other hand, when I sing “Woman” by Neneh Cherry, I switch into Amazon mode, conveying powerful and almost ancestral female vibes. I step onto the stage wearing sparkling lingerie, humongous shoulder pads and a cape. I love switching between the different personality traits and showing that women can be both light-hearted and meaningful, both funny and powerful.

Can you describe your universe in three words?

Mysterious, cheeky and sensual.

What has your time at Crazy Horse Paris brought you personally?

I feel freer and freer. Crazy Horse Paris provides a safe space where free women can show off their beauty. The site aura, the kind team, the talented dancers and the quality show all combined encourage me to be myself and walk with my head held high, both as a woman and as an artist. I am truly honoured to be part of the show. I have also learnt a key lesson on the stage here: how to charm an audience. Thousands of little details come together on stage each evening, sculpting an artistic marvel guaranteed to capture the audience’s attention.

What do you love most about life as an artist?

I love the constant learning process. I learn by watching the other performers and the dancers, and by listening to the advice of the show managers. I also write my own songs and I love the daily inspiration at Crazy Horse Paris. Crazy Horse Paris enriches my world, and my song content matches this input.

How do you see the emblematic Crazy Horse Paris dancers who share the show?

I am fascinated by the dancers! I watch the show so closely my eyes are tired! It is indeed crazy to see how each dancer harnesses her own personality and special traits while dancing the prescribed choreography. I love witnessing how each dancer takes on a new solo, for example, and watching how she adjusts details over time.

What special touch do you bring to the Totally Crazy! show?

I hope I add an extra touch of craziness thanks to how I interact with the audience, and more fire power!

What do you think is the magic Crazy Horse Paris ingredient that has ensured its success for the last seventy-five years?

I would say admiration for women and a great performance, and the attention paid to the little details. I feel that this combination of artistic excellence and female empowerment is really something special for the audience. This is a rather unique show. Our female dancers are happy, free and powerful, and the audience can tell. People come out feeling different.

Which number in the Totally Crazy show do you think is the most mesmerizing?I can’t answer that question, it’s impossible to choose! I love Vestal’s desire, the whole combination of shapes and repetitive movements, plus the music, all make it a number that draws you totally in. The poetic and visual effects of Rougir de Désir also hit me hard. And how can you not fall in love with Lay Laser Lay. The emotions portrayed by the dancer in this powerful number take your breath away, it knocks you out.
